[Music from the Baul] Someone to Watch Over Me

Here's an oldie but goodie. I'm feeling kind of sentimental today. Perhaps it's the dreary weather. Or my girlfriends flying back to London and New York after a week in Manila. In our conversations, I've had a couple of realizations, one of them being having someone in your life who will be there for you no matter what. I guess part of it is knowing the other well enough to tell if he or she isn't ok and showing genuine concern.

People come and go in our lives (in both the romantic sense and the platonic sense). It takes so much to share yourself with someone.

Anyway. I'm a little lamb who's lost in the woods and can you tell him please to put on some speed. Hehe.

Someone to Watch Over Me
By George Gershwin

There's a saying old says that love is blind
Still we're often told "seek and ye shall find"
So I'm going to seek a certain girl/lad I've had in mind
Looking everywhere, haven't found her yet
She's the big affair I cannot forget
Only girl/man I ever think of will regret

I'd like to add her/him initials to my monogram
Tell me where's the shepherd for this lost lamb

There's a somebody I'm longing to see
I hope that she/he turns out to be
Someone to watch over me

I'm a little lamb who's lost in a wood
I know I could always be good
To one who'll watch over me

Although I/he may not be the man some girls think of
As handsome to my heart
She/he carries the key

Won't you tell her/him please to put on some speed
Follow my lead, oh how I need
Someone to watch over me
Someone to watch over me
