Shopping and Chocolate Buzz
For the past few days, we've been entertaining and getting to know our client team. They flew from the land down under a few days ago and we've been high on chocolate every single day. They've all been very generous with the pasalubongs! These guys learn quickly about what makes Pinoys tick (food in general, haha!). Overall, I think the client visit went very, very well. Personally, I'm just glad for this opportunity to meet them face to face. They used to be our co-workers/client team, but now, they're persons! Actual persons who we've met and interacted with. Wish we could have this more often. The free, great meals are not so bad either.
My random thoughts...
** Guava strikes again! We were supposed to try frogs and crickets at Abe, but the waiting time was pretty long. So we opted for Guava instead. I've been to this resto a couple of times, and I'm really glad it was a hit once again. We ordered Pritchon Wraps, Monggonisa, Crispy Tadyang, and Ginataang Adobong Manok. All hits! Even Mark liked the dalandan juice! Less tart than the calamansi juice. I'm just surprised he remembered "calamansi" in the first place. It was also great meeting Chad's girlfriend, Pia, for the first time. The conversations were pretty good and animated! We headed to Xocolat after dinner, where I had this Aztec hot chocolate with chili and cinammon. Mark liked it too! And I was surprised to find out that he liked Korean movies!
(Insert Pics here.... Ahem. Pasave na lang Mike. Please? :))
** Going around Serendra with Mike prior to meeting up with the guys was loads of fun as well. I filled him in our shopping adventures with Alice earlier today. The often-mistaken snob mentioned that he got "Rab" Thomas's latest CD and that he's "Uh-ten" at this other resto previously. Haha. We need to make up for the three weeks we've had no barok moments. Syempre, being best in English (ahem), I had no booboos this evening. Haha. We saw Karina and the Figueroas as well!
** Shopping with Alice and Yas was a blast. We went to Greenhills and Glorietta. I have to hand the baton over to Alice. She is the shopping queen! She knows what she wants, and she's in and out of a store in a jiffy. No indecisiveness at all! We spent a lot of girlie bonding time together and it was hilarious to hear her candid inquiries about certain things and certain people. I genuinely wish she could have stayed longer. Yas and I enjoyed the company.
** Overall, it's been a really good day! I came in the office, ready to do my work stuff. But I was asked (no coercing necessary), to accompany Alice and Yas shopping. Could I ever say no to shopping??! It's been a good week so far, going back to the office. It started rocky (with my post-Euro trip hangover and all), but Irene pointed out there's absolutely nothing to be sad about because I had a great time. Perhaps it's because this week (so far) has been about socializing and getting to know people better. Just like how the song goes... "Diamonds are forever, forever, forever...."
