Ramirez-Usi Wedding

Fourth wedding of the year to date. Our previous senior manager, Ruffy, asked Mike and I to host their wedding reception. It was Mike's debut as a wedding reception host, and I was being my usual O.C./epal wedding coordinator self.

We left the office early (around 3:30pm) and went straight to Makati Sports. The waiters were setting up the tables and the florist was there, supervising floral arrangements. It was a good thing I made a checklist of things we needed to make sure was set-up correctly.

After the set-up was done, we got dressed. Mike didn't object so much about my wardrobe of choice for him. His slim cut black pants, stripped long sleeved shirt (not tucked) and a nice dinner jacket.

We arrived at the reception early. It was a good thing Ruffy had ex-Accenture friends who helped out in the reception booth.

The program started a little before 7. Everything went generally according to plan. Ruffy was the dotting husband, and Kitch was very sophisticated. Mike had two hosting booboos-- calling Kitch's Dad Miguel, instead of Manuel and her sister Melanie, instead of Melinda. But it was all good. Haha.

The Ramirezes are quite the musical family. Over dinner, there was live entertainment courtesy of the Elvis Presley band! With a real Elvis. My parents would have a ball at such a party! The Neneru band performed, so did Sophia (Ruffy's niece), and AJ (Kitch's son). Tito Frank imparted marital advice, "Always say Sorry and Yes Mam. That should do it!"

We also particularly enjoyed the wine. It was sweet and the supply was abundant. Hehe. Miguel, Ruffy's brother, who's a dead ringer for Tito Frank, performed his rockstar best! Singing "Satisfaction" and "Break on through to the other side". His dance moves were rockin'!

We also met a couple of Accenture employees from Ruffy's old project. This couple and gentleman from Accenture Japan.

Lola Marie was there of course and was gushing, when we were saying our goodbyes. She asked me in a whisper, "Who's your escort?" Mwahahaha. Love the ol school talk. Mike almost bought Ruffy's solo picture (outside the ballroom). Wahaha.

So we walked back to the condo, sloshed, but confident in our driving abilities.

Congratulations Ruffy and Kitch! We had a fun time!
