I've been looking for this Darius Rucker song for quite some time now, off the soundtrack of the Jack Black movie, Shallow Hal. It was played in the part where Hal realizes what he loves about Rosemary transcends the physical realm (although in the movie of course, it was stated differently, hehe!).

This is my World by Darius Rucker

The look on your face
It could never explain your heart
And the touch of my lips
It could never tell u my thoughts

And U want me to change
I can't get used to
All U want me to be
I just can't pretend
To be anyone else
Cuz it's not really me

This is my world
This is who I am
And I'm not gonna give up myself
To make your life better

She said
This is how it is
I got my own life to live
And U can either accept me
Or baby

And if it's love
That we share
Then we can withstand all
The obstacles that life brings forth
And I will receive you
For who U are who u were
And baby who U will be

But U want me to change
Girl I can't get used to
All U want me to be
And I just can't pretend
To be anyone else, oh
Cuz it's not really me

This is my world
This is who I am
And I'm not trying to give up myself
To make your life better, now

This is how it is
I got my own life to live
And U can either accept me
Or baby

This is my world
This is who i am
And I'm not trying to give up myself
To make your life better

She said
This is how
I got my own life to live
And U can either accept me
Or baby let me go

U said I promise you the stars
And I'm
Giving you all I can now
U said love is not enough
And I know
U will see
If your life turns around
In my heart there is room for u

It's me and my world
This is who i am
And I'm not trying to give up myself
To make your life better

She said
This is how
I got my life
And U can either accept me
Or baby

This is my world
Who I am
And I'm not trying to give up myself
To make your life better, now

Oh, this is how
And I got my life
And U can either accept me
Or baby let me go

This is my world
My world
Baby let me go

Oh, this is who I am
Where I live
Got my own life to give

Oh, oh oh
My world
I'm not trying to change u
This is who I am
Please let me be me, yeah

Amazing Race fever has hit Metro Manila! And I feel almost guilty that chatting up a storm about race highlights, teams who should've won, and tactics is not a chargeable activity in our project. Bummer.

As unexpected turn of events have it, TAR5-forums-favorite Chip and Kim dashed to the finish line first, just a few minutes before my team, the very controversial Colin and Christie. Several heated debates insued, in lieu of this. Heated debates among my friends, officemates, and housemates. C&K fans argue that lying is part of the game. Twas their strategy. Withholding information was not illegal in the rule book. My vehement reply to that was: that's not how the other teams played! And well, quite frankly, despite Colin's loud, dirty mouth, he and Christie were the strongest players... in the entire history of the Amazing Race! Haha! In the long run, the lesson of it was: It's not really how to play the game, it's on whose side Lady Luck is on!

Things have simmered down a bit, from last week's controversial discussions. But I still think the more deserving team was Colin and Christie. They kicked ass!! My heart went out to the loud-mouthed neanderthal when he exclaimed, "My Ox is broken!" A few minutes later, he muttered in despair, "I hate you!" Haha! Rude guys are human after all. My vote for the C&C team was stamped certain when he hurriedly climbed the rapelling rope against the huge wall in Palawan! Talk about super-human strength!

Anyway, funny how the CBS website has C&C on the winner's page. :D Hehe!
Oh well... tis the beginning of yet another season of Amazing Race! Hope this one'll be as interesting and riveting as the last one!

What you didn't know about my Diego...

Diego's father is an acclaimed set designer in Mexico.
He has been best friends with his Y tú mama también co-star since childhood.
Diego is a big Coldplay fan.
Football is one of Diego's first loves - he played for an amateur team in Mexico in his spare time.
Diego is single and says all he needs is a girlfriend and life would be perfect! His ideal women would be free-spirited and have a sense of humour, so ladies get practising on that sparkling conversation technique!

Call me pathetic, but please call my company a cutie-deprived haven for programmers! This guy is such a cutie! And my obsession is quite reminiscent of my Jonathan Brandis days, unprecedented, and never quite revisited after high school! So very sad!!

All by my...

A story of prologues
Diego Luna on my desktop
Robert Doisneau's kiss on my wall
Wistful looks at pairs and partners
Coldplay on a rainy day
365 days of birthdays and holidays
Dr. Seuss in stock
What-ifs, but no regrets
Giving him a chance
But giving myself a chance instead
Luncheons, dinners, out-of-town trips
Spending for one
But saving for two
Future reservations at Le Souffle
Celio shirts and the recipient on the Christmas List
Wanting to fill
A cup half full
Missing what's missing
But relishing my being
Chapters to follow the prologue, soon to come
An epilogue of twists and surprises
Someday, somewhere, and someone
Hope in the some...
Hope in the some...

I'm here.... coz you guessed it right! It's a Monday! This week at Dow (sounds like an exciting Reality TV show!), it's EAW - or as we've dubbed it, DOW heart U! Haha! Employee Appreciation Week.

Again, preparation for this week has made me think again about my so-called job preferrence... and angst/frustration in general. No rush in coding, debugging, solving abends, testing... nothin'. But making brochures, print outs, games... wow... gets me through the week!

Today, we have a team trivia spreadsheet and breakfast served by the project team leads. My teammates now are working on getting some answers. Pretty funny feeling, knowing the answers but keeping shut about it. Hehe!

Seasons of Changes, Seasons a Changin'

I've been thinking about changes lately, as brought about my new film fave, Cinema Paradiso. How change is so constant... how situations change, how people change... For example, in our Uh huh 2004 triad, Maan has left for the US. Karina and I have each other here in the Tropics. Both Irene and Sam are in foreign lands, pursuing careers of their own. My cousins, who used to love going out, painting the town red, checking out the latest gimik places... are now married and have parental duties!
