Typhoon!

Dengit... Typhoon Reming will soon hit Manila. In the next couple of hours! Good news from Pagasa though...

PAG-ASA has issued the following update as of 2:25pm:

SUPER typhoon "Reming" (international codename: Durian) has changed course and will no longer hit Metro Manila directly.
Instead, the storm, with winds of 190 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 225 kilometers per hour, will hit provinces south of the capital, including the Mindoro provinces.

Whopeee! I'm pretty pleased with this piece of news! Keysi and I are a little worried about how this will affect our trip on Saturday. Please, oh please! No cancelled flights. Weather in BKK is pretty good! Sunny and partly cloudy days.

We are taking Luke, Aussie dude we met in Sydney, out to dinner today. Of course, I brought my digital camera. Just in cases! Haha!

Obviously some blogging time...

Oohh... It's 6:43am, and I can hear the airconditioning humming. 15 minutes ahead of schedule. My window shades have been slightly pulled up and I can see the nice view of the Guadalupe Bridge and the early morning motorists traversing EDSA. Everything looks bright and sunny on this Wednesday morning.

Karina told me last night that there is yet another typhoon on the horizon. Oh please, Lord God. I hope it's not too bad that they cancel flights this weekend!

Our BKK trip is but 2 days away (not counting today of course)! I'm pretty psyched. I've preselected my BKK outfits last night. Haha! I think my closest friends know that my favorite part of every trip is packing! I dunno. Maybe it's the anticipation of what's to come. Although the last time I did some packing (for Sydney)... I had a pretty terrible time. It's hard to pack for a 6-8 week trip.

I slept at close to 1AM last night. Nope. Not because of overtime. St. Elmo's Fire was on HBO and the eighties freak in me just couldn't resist. Andrew McCarthy is always fun to watch. Maan and I have had the hugest crush on Blaine, Mr. Rich Dude from Pretty in Pink. I just love it when he smiles (eyes crinkling in the edges). He's like your average nice guy. Nice guys rule! Haha!

ERP5 Christmas Party is in the works!!! =) December 8! Linden Suites. We're booked and we just need to fix a few logistical details.

Hmm...Focus Christmas Party... I need to start working on that, too. Hehe. Christmas parties left and right, man!

3 Days to Go!

While waiting for the air conditioning to be turned on here on our floor (tis but 6:44am and I'm halfway through my morning cup o' joe), I decided to say hello to my blog. Alas. It's been over a week since I last wrote. Oh how time flies.

3 Days to Go before Part Tres of the Keysi and Tenten Bangkok Adventures! For a time, we even considered going to China. But visas and tourist excursions aside, we opted for Bangkok. Y porque? The shopping and the food. I'm thinking of what to pack. I will be truly serious about packing light this time. Lemme see... prolly 4 shirts, 1 nice blouse, 2 pairs of jeans, 1 capri pants. 2 pairs of shoes (super comfy kiddie Zara shoes and flipflops). Pack light na ba yun? Hehe. Oh... Special thanks to my comfy kiddie Zara shoes. The pair has taken me to sooo many places in comfort.

My workload has somehow lessened over the past few days.I'm hoping to get off work at 3PM today. Mikey will be going to Baguio this afternoon and I just texted him if he wants to meet earlier today.

Weekend was pretty good. Super relaxing, I must say. Sunday, I think, was the oink-iest of them all. I literally just ate and slept and ate and slept and ate and slept. Until it was Monday morning. Hehe.

Friday evening, Keysi, Rni, and I saw Happy Feet! It's such a fun movie. Never a dull moment. I love Ramon and his other small penguin pals! Yes, I admit, I was teary at some parts. But I was just laughing heartily in others.

Saturday, we met up with Dino in Westgate for his Iron Chef-esque event. It was pretty obvious that I enjoyed sampling the entries from CCA, Cravings, and OB Montessori.

Okie! Enough for now. Time to work!

Old Friends

This week and the past week have been pretty hectic weeks. Even the weekends are filled with activities. Work has been relentless. I think the stress is taking its toll on my appetite. I've been having this constant craving for coffee and YBs. But dinner time always seems to be a good time to eat. Hehe. Meeting with my annual reviewees has been fun. It's pretty interesting how similar most of them are. I've met with... 5 of them! So 12 to go??

Last night I had a blast hanging out with Mikey (fresh off the boat) and Lery! I picked Mikey up from his Tita's house in Dasma and we just chatted and chatted until dinner time. He's still the same goofball from college... only thinner! Yoga seems to do wonders for the body (and the stamina, I hear!). Lery joined us after, and we just chatted some more over dinner in Cascada. Reminiscing galore! Khalid's eyebrows, trips to Eliazo, girls who had a crush on Jog... Laugh trip! We had drinks after at Segafredo, and Mikey's aunt, uncle, and cousin joined us. Lery and I (sneakily), had coffee after. I can't believe how the two hours just flew! We shared stories and well... our conclusion?? Haha. Kung makakagawa ng paraan, gagawa ng paraan!

I'm pretty amazed at how there are friends whom you don't get to see that often, but when you do, it's like you just last saw them yesterday. I had a different kind of high after last night. Mikey gives the best advice. I wonder how he does it?! He doesn't need all the details. He just seems to know!

Maan sent me email-esque text messages today! She is back! After being Ms. L.A. Tour Guide and Singles for Christ super woman! i hope you're reading this Maan! Christmas will be doubly sad because you aren't around. :(

Speaking of the holidays... Our BKK trip is about... 9 days away?! 9 days from tomorrow. Gotta start that shopping list.

More JB Pics

I borrowed Karina's CF card and here are some pics of our JB adventures! Tis a mix of pics taken. Karina's beeday at Manila Pen with P.I. (their favorite hotel), my pre-beeday celeb at the Jack's and Cuisine, Starbucks BF with Karina and BF. Maan! We miss you oh-so-much!

Decent Pics naman

Okie... so here's a batch of decent pics...

Taken two Fridays ago. P.I., Karina, and I just chilled at Starbucks BF. Of course, I couldn't help but remember MacMac (whose first coffee shop trip turned out to be his last). It was just super fun because we were laughing at the funny pics we had taken with the photo booth app. P.I. is such a nice and sweet guy... Diba Kars? Hehehe!

Karina still has the pics we took from our Cuisine gimik with Macky and Erik.

This weekend is yet another busy weekend. Rachelle's wedding tomorrow. Pesem and I are the designated emcees. Thank God for reusable wedding reception scripts. I'll be passing by Philway Travel tomorrow to pay for our BKK 2006 trip!! I still can't believe we booked everything in a matter of two days! Haha! And that trip is about 2 weeks away. I have a BKK countdown on my white board. As of today... 14 days to go. Parang surreal. This year, we'll be staying at Bangkok Palace... Uh... just across the street from our favorite D'Ma Pavillion. Keysi and I are crossing our fingers that the breakfast buffet's decent (with "becon"). Itsy Bitsy in Malate is also on sale! So I dunno if I will have time to pass by tomorrow! Pesem and I are making a day of tomorrow! I'm dragging him with me to ATC to check out Designer Boulevard. Then maybe dinner at Westgate. =) And Casino Royale afterwards? Haha!

I am officially addicted to Up Dharma Down's "Oo". Deng. Such a nice song.

So what's keeping the blogging juices flowing... at 2:54am?! The Grande Peppermint Mocha I had at Starbucks a few hours ago. Chae and I spent the evening finalizing Rachie's AVP. Parang wedding nga ni Chae eh! Haha!

Anyways... perhaps it's time to catch some zzzzs... We don't want some Zombie-looking host, now do we?

Funny Pictures!

Sulitin na ang pagboblog...

Here are some funny pics taken by MacMac II's Photo Booth application.

Kwismus 2006 Just Around the Corner...

Keysi and I had dinner at Powerplant last Wednesday and we saw these super cute snowmen!

Christmas is just around the corner.... Well... actually, Christmas is pretty much all over! The hallways of the Cybergate office are ladden with blue and silver decor. A nice improvement from the Christmas balls we used to see in 6750.

What I love about Christmas...

The huge orange Christmas Tree in Powerplant!

Shopping for gifts! It's a tedious and sometimes stressful thing to do. But figuring out what presents to get for friends and family... That's just half the fun!

Seeing friends you must see once a year. Catching up with them and exchanging gifts!

The Tanquilut Christmas Party! Funny how we used to dress up for that special occasion before. And have special song or dance numbers. 'Course, there's the mandatory family photo shoot. We're going to do the Bad Santa thing again this year! I hope it'll be as fun as last year's.

Backlog Blog... Nov 14

While I'm blogging, I'm listening to this new CD I bought... Fragmented by Up Dharma Down. They are pretty awesome! The CDs have been sold out in Tower Records, and I was pretty lucky to find a copy in O.

Back to the grindstone today. The weekend was indeed currrraazy! The wedding last Saturday was a success. Wala namang major aberya. The guests and the couple enjoyed the wedding, despite technical difficulties (I miss you Bibay!). I put my talk show host talents to good use by filling in some of the lulls while we were waiting for the techie guys to figure out how to play the deng VCD.

I was still able to muster the energy to go to Teng's beeday party in Tahanan right after the wedding. 'Course, Macky was there, and some of Maan's Tahanan friends. P.I. and Mama Mee I (Karina) were there. We saw each other last Friday in Starbucks BF! We were just laughing at asses off while taking crazy pics on MacMac II's Photo Booth. Anyway, back to Saturday… Then I was off to Rommel’s party (by force because the guys ran out of beer). I spoke with Trina and Derek, Rommel’s friends, about their wedding next year. Great concept!

Sunday, had lunch at Omakase and then drove to Tagaytay for the Accenture STL seminar, which I must say I really enjoyed! We met a couple fellow STLs, Level Cs, Senior Specialists… Hehe. As I was telling Keyce earlier today, it’s pretty important that the senior execs in the company are admirable and worth looking up to. With our new friends, we went to Starbucks Tagaytay later that Sunday evening. Monday was a full seminar-esque day. I was back at home a little before 8. So I had time to watch Project Runway!

Today was back to work day… A couple of backlog emails here and there. I’ve been a little distracted today. Hangover from Tagaytay I guess? I invited Keysi for dinner in the afternoon. Being the kaladkarin girl that she is (same as moi!), I picked her up in MSE before 6 and we had dinner at Burgoo! Coffee at Gloria Jeans! Then some retail therapy at Zara. Finally bought the green v-neck sweater I’ve been eyeing for months.

Some random thoughts for the day…

The Powerplant, Keysi, Karina, and Zara have truly made some tough days better!! I dunno how I’d survive the crazy weeks without ‘em. They can read me like a book and the laughs are just from the diaphragm! Maan, I wish you were here. JB girls are the bestest.

Ice Ice Buko... may munggo pa sa dulo!

Be Prepared for this weekend!

Deng deng...

This weekend promises to be one currazzzzy weekend! The Castro-Naguit wedding is tomorrow, and I'm feeling a little dubious about the wedding. Everything seems to be steady sailing that I have a feeling the universe might pull a fast one on us. I think I've done all that I could to prepare. Milyne and Mark are pretty hands on with the preparations, which is probably a good reason why I'm feeling a little relaxed than usual. Most of the documents I usually prepare and print they've completed on their own. But the execution is still up to us tomorrow.

My wedding team and I met today, did our last minute errands, had a filling Tang City dinner, and talked about the wedding. I've handed their wedding kits over. *sigh* I really hope everything works out ok. Wedding gods, I hope you're tuned in.

Teng has a beeday celeb tomorrow, and I'm hoping to make a quick appearance. My brother is also having a party here at home, and I need to talk to Derek and Trina about their wedding (scheduled next year). So party here and party there. I hope i have the energy.

Sunday and Monday are Accenture days. New Senior Team Leads seminar of sorts. Keyce said it mostly consists of talks. It's in Tagaytay, so that's a plus. But for now, that has a taken a backseat. The Wedding's waaay up front of course.

So why am I blogging when it's 2 AM and I have a couple of sheets to cut and a truckload of stuff to pack?? I dunno! Haha! I just like venting I guess... amidst more important things I need to do.

Random thought for the day... I went to Glorietta today (where my wedding meeting was held). The Christmas decors are up. At the entrance, there were swags of Christmas lights. And they were looking oh-so-pretty. Inside the mall, several Christmas trees, in different color motifs, stand proudly, merrily inviting onlookers to get a sense of the holidays. I love Chrismas! I think I've been saying that for the past two months. My favorite time of year. It's just nice how seeing a swag of lights made me feel. I think I was all warm inside, and I broke into a smile.

Time to cut!

Turning 27

Finally... some blogging time.

Tis 11:34pm and I think my beeday is on extended mode. The David Letterman episode where The Killers performed is on tonight! For the second time! Thank you Jack TV!

Turning 27. Ain't so bad. =) I was pleasantly surprised that some people who I haven't spoken to in a while remembered! I thoroughly enjoyed talking to my aunts from Davao over the phone. It was nice of them to call. I can't thank everyone who greeted me enough. I think I was smiling the whole day long. Countless message alert tones and "Anneyeonghaseyo" ring tunes just kept that grin on my face.

Beeday highlights...

Greetings from friends and family. I have an uncle and two aunts who said I was their favorite niece! Haha! Warms the heart. Thanks to everyone who remembered!

Surprise beeday balloons and write ups from Pesem! I was in the office Sunday and he was slightly annoyed that I was there, snatching the "surprise" factor of his thoughtful gesture.

Super filling lunch at Fish and Company with polo barong Mike, complete with star sightings! Richard Gomez, Claudine Barreto, and Raymart Santiago! Haha! Of course, kailangang magbigay pugay sa newly opened na Zara!

Talking to Maan and Irene over the phone. Aww... Miss those girls!

Dinner at Pazzo with Karina. Destroying the pazzo wooden frame by accident, so we could sight Donita Rose's son, calling some guy cute out loud and having him stare at us back, having ice cream while watching the huge orange Christmas Tree. Perfect evening filled with laughs. JB style!

In the Office... On a Friday Evening...

Deng... It's 10:01pm and I am still in the office! With my oily hair and my tired eyes. The sacrifices for a start-up project's growing pains. I've been yawning for the nth time and I have a sudden craving for a tall caramel frap. Yum... and a complementary YB. Oh yeah...

Work has been ok these past few days... In terms of load that is. I was at home before 5:30pm yesterday! But was out of the office before 7. We saw "Open Season" last night and I slept in some parts of the movie. Which is unlike me. Movie Buff that I am. I guess nowadays, I'm better known as the Tired Movie Buff.

The big B-day is a 3 days away. I can't believe I'll be turning 27!! Oh my 27 seems more impending than 26. 3 more years and I'm thirty! 27 years... it's been good so far, I guess. I've had my share of hardships and emotional roller coasters, of great friends and friends who have gone.

I haven't blogged about "The Prestige" yet! Christopher Nolan masterpiece! Will probably make another entry for that!
