Itchy and Sleepy

I've been itchy and sleepy the entire day. Argh. Neither are desirable feelings, mind you. Tito Mar advised that I take Iterax, which took care of the itchiness. But I think it's what's making me sleepy during the day. I will try NOT to take any medication tonight. Just Fissan on my back. I think I will be fighting the scratching urge tonight.

Random Thoughts...

** Yesterday was Anzac Day. Aussie holiday. From Wikipedia... "ANZAC Day - 25 April - marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces quickly became known as Anzacs, and the pride they soon took in that name endures to this day." I stayed at home, with the plans of studying for my CSTE exam this weekend. But noh. Schmenten slept till 11AM. Slept again from 1-5PM. Then went to ATC for some shopping with the bro. And then I slept again for the most part of the drive home. And slept some more when we arrived at home. So there goes another day wasted. Sarap lang to sleep kasi.

** My brain's been in Hibernate mode these past few days. I think it's in dire need of a reboot... A reblast perhaps? Hahaha. I've been feeling lazy and unispired lately. Sleeping and eating excites me. Haha. What a life. I'm not sure if I will welcome a major change with open arms. Maybe I just need to rethink my priorities. Maybe laze around the beach. Think about the past year and the year that will be.

** Speaking of years... I recall sharing this optimistic conversation with Keysi when the year started. "Keyce! I tell you! 2007 will be our year!" Lo and behold.... a month from now, 2007 will be halfway through. And. Nothing. Has. Changed. Hahaha! Same boring, uneventfiul lives. Haha.

** Papa texted me after seeing Mamma Mia on Broadway and they super enjoyed it. "Funtastic!" was his exact word. How can you go wrong with Abba??

My Recent Order at Amazon

Because the parental units are going to the US, I visited Amazon.com to shop for a few items I couldn't get here in Manila. I've placed my order and I just received a note from Amazon that some of my stuff are on its way to Tita Linda's house in Alhambra. Woohoo!

Too Cool for School - The John Hughes Collection (Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Pretty in Pink - everything's Duckie Edition, Some Kind of Wonderful - Special Collector's Edition)
What I'm looking forward to... Seeing the special features of Some Kind of Wonderful DVD! Eric Stotlz interviews, circa 1987! Cutest! Matthew Broderick before Sarah Jessica Parker. Jennifer Grey before Dirty Dancing. Molly Ringwald when she was still famous.

Alphabetical by Phoenix What I'm looking forward to... Listening to the entire CD actually! I have "Run Run Run" and "Everything is Everything". I hope the CD won't disappoint.

United by Phoenix What I'm looking forward to... This CD's a little pricey.... I hope it's worth it though. Of course, there's "If I ever Feel Better", as introduced to me by Miguel's mixed CD. I hope the other tracks are good.

Speak for Yourself by Imogen HeapWhat I'm looking forward to... "Goodnight and Go" of Course! And "Just for Now" (Keysi recommends). Just like Details, I think this album will be the bomb. Imogen is Frou Frou. Her voice is so unique and her songs are stories.

Details by Frou FrouWhat I'm looking forward to... I ripped Keysi's CD. But what the hey?? The entire album is just outstanding. No track to be skipped. "It's good to be in love", "Only Got One", "Here Me Out" and "Let Go."

Ben Folds Live by Ben Folds What I'm looking forward to... Okie... It's about time I got my hands on something Ben Folds. "Zak and Sara", "Brick", Tiny Dancer", and "The Luckiest". Explicit lyrics to be expected. Hmm... The only Ben Folds song I knew before was "Brick", and after seeing this dude in concert, he is just awesome. What an entertainer. I was hoping "Still Fighting It" was in the album.

I Like you: Hospitality Under the Influence by Amy Sedaris What I'm looking forward to... Tis a book. A fun book about entertaining at home. I like Amy Sedaris! She played David's Spade best friend turned girl in Just Shoot Me. Should be hilarious. I think they featured her in the Late Show with Conan. Her entertaining ideas are super unique and funny!

Pride and Prejudice, A&E Special EditionWhat I'm looking forward to... Namee, I've given in! Haha! I can't seem to find this DVD anywhere (not in the meccas of pirated DVDs and in AV stores). See you in a few, Mr. Darcy. I am looking forward to seeing Colin Firth's portrayal of the elusive Mr. Darcy. I tried reading Jane Austen's novel... and I haven't finished it. Haha. This DVD should be good enough.

New Do and the Subtleties

After seven years of sporting a long hairstyle, I've decided to cut my hair short. I figured, it's summertime. If I don't like it, it's going to grow anyway. Keysi set the appointment for our hair cuts for Sunday morning. We were in Toni & Guy a little past 1030am. Roger was the stylist who orchestrated the whole she-bang. He asked me what I wanted to do with my hair and my immediate response was, "I want it short." And viola! Two hours later...

I like it! It's longer in front to frame my siopao face. And really short in the back. I'm still getting used to wearing my hair short. But so far, people who've seen me like it! Yas commented that I should've gotten bangs... Haha. Well. Maybe next time.

Keyce had a haircut too! We were making fun of how thick her hair was. But her haircut turned out nice too! Thanks Roger!

I like the service we got in Toni & Guy. They have me a welcome massage, an awesome shampooing session, and a nice haircut. I like it that they fuss over their customers and don't shove you out the door as soon as you're done. My haircut (and pedicure), took about 2 hours to complete. Nice.

Anyway, Kecye and I took our new dos for a spin. Haha. I had a few to-buys in Greenhills. So we had lunch at Lee Ching Too. O.M.G. The best. Spareribs. In Metro Manila. Haha! Gutom ba kami?? We ordered the beef noodles, chicken feet, and hakao.

Greenhills has improved over the years! I remember Virra Mall being this seedy and smelly shopping place. Look at it now! Nice diba?!

After buying my brothers' board shorts and our wireless router, we went to Robinson's Galleria where we saw "Ang Cute Ng Ina mo." Later, we had dinner at Kitchen. Grabe. Lamon fest na naman.

Haaay... the subtleties. :-) I met Rni's boyfriend yesterday for the first time. He's nice and they're both quite sweet! There are small things which they do that speak a lot. The teasing looks, putting food on each other's plates, Rni getting Allen's glasses for safe keeping... Awww... We are happy for our happy lamon friend, Rni.

See how happy we are? :) Lamon girls. With new haircuts. What a day of eating and shopping.

Enchanted Kingdom with Enchanting Boys

My second EK trip for the week. This time, it was the ESS and Testing teams' team building activity. Kuya Jer and I went to Cybergate first to pick up some of the ESS guys. Then to ATC to pick up Melvin and Mike.

We were pleasantly surprised to see a "Welcome Accenture" banner at the entrance! We later found out that another project was in EK. But we took a picture with the banner pa rin.

Our first ride... Dodge 'Em! The bump cars! I think I almost dislocated my arm because of the impact of some of the head-on bumps. Hehe. We got on the Roller Skater next, which was essentially a sneak peek of the bigger roller coaster.

Next we got on Anchor's Away. Super fun! Super fun to look at the other peeps on the ride. We also rode on the Jungle Log Jam, the Space Shuttle and the famous Rio Grande Rapids where we got wet wet wet!

Something new we did try... the Go Carts! Well.. new to me. Not new to Melvin though, who drove past me several times. We had to put on some "magnanakaw"-esque gear.

We met up with Ceasar and Edwin a little before 7pm.

Si Edwin! Hindi drawing! He did show up!

Later, Mike and I treated the guys to a Pizza and Chicken dinner. Busog syempre ang lahat. Including the MW rep, Ceasar!

So this is me, representing the testing team, Ceasar, representing the MW team, and Mike's "the claw" (which appears in several pictures).

Here's today's the many faces of Mike (I've lost track of where in the series we are). Check out how my face doesn't change expressions at all.

Here's us waiting for the Fireworks display (cue music, "Everyday, everyday, everyday the magic is here!")

Last ride of the evening... Wheel of Fate. Nice way to cap the fun day. A view of the whole theme park! With the breeze whipping my long hair. And the claw, making its final appearance.

The Old Fridays...

Ahhh... Oh how I miss those Fridays when Keysi and I would take the cinemas by storm and have a good satisfactory dinner. Well... we finally had just that last Friday. A first in a really long time! We headed for our favorite mall, the Powerplant Mall in Rockwell. We sampled the breakfast treats at Gram's Diner! I had the Breakfast Sampler and Keysi had sausages and tots.

We then decided to see Wild Hogs. Funny movie! Love William H. Macy!

Twin Popsies High

I just finished two twin popsies. Yummy!! I'm the type who likes chewing on ice cream (rather than licking). Hehe. Some random thoughts (while I have Prison Break playing in the background)....

**
Enchanted Kingdom with the girls last Tuesday was super fun! The girls are all grown-up now. I'm feeling sad and nostalgic. Happy that they're turning out to be such great young ladies. Charmaine's super duper funny. She's very funny for a thirteen year old. I can't believe we finished one whole pizza... All five of us girls. Hehe.

Allergies are acting up I think... That, or we have some bed bug problem. Argh. Any discomfort is a discomfort. I hate not sleeping all the way through. Ahhh.. uninterrupted sleep... Only a fine glass of red wine (or two) can give me that.

Monday Movie Marathon

HBO and Star Movies were both in my favor tonight. I had planned to sleep early. Finish all my backlog blogging. Deng these great great movies, one after the other.

Twas a little past 9 when I caught this on Star Movies. This remains to be one of the three scariest movies I've ever seen. I was terrified at the scene where Haley Joel Osment was in the bathroom and someone passed him by. Still made me squeel. Even after 8 years. I also liked the scene where he confesses to his Mom that he sees ghosts. Loved the line, "Everyday." Everyday her grandmother was proud of her. Aww... I was totally floored when I saw this movie for the first time (at the twist). M. Night is a genuis (and was an extra).

After the Sixth Sense, also on Star Movies, the Family Stone was on. I've never seen this movie, so I figured, what the hey. It's set Christmastime (best time of the year). And Sarah Jessica Parker's character made a wince several times. She was trying very hard to be liked by the Stone family. Luke Wilson's character hooking up with Sarah Jessica Parker's character makes me smile. She's uptight and not exactly friendly. He's more laid back (almost carefree). I do not like Claire Danes. Haha. This movie was about family. Always been fond of family movies.

Icing on top of this Red Ribbon cake (which I most recently purchased). One of my all-time favorite movies. Pride and Prejudice on HBO. At 1230am! Haha. How will I turn the tv off now? Mr. Darcy. Waaah... "You have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, love, love you." Now this is making me consider if I should get the Colin Firth made-for-TV movie version of Pride and Prejudice. Anyway, Mr. Darcy is Mark Darcy (from Bridget Jones). There is something about these mysterious guys. And if you find 'em, they're for keeps.

Weekend Random Thoughts...

Random Thoughts from the Weekend...

** Missing Ate Gret.. Bebet and I were talking about Ate Gret last Friday and it suddenly dawned on me how much I miss having her around (Of course, miss ko rin si Ate My, Ate Svet, and Judy!). She has this contagious laugh. She and I both love "I Am Sam" and she's Kikay Incarnate. Haha. I remember those times when she and Bebet would drop by the house and just hang out. Nakakamiss lang.

** Taking Charge and Missing the Parental Units... The parents will be out for almost a month, and I, the Pinoy Big Sister, have been left in charge of the household. Just like the time when they went to Europe, Ate Ten is in charge of the management and finances of the house. This isn't the first time, so I'm feeling less apprehensive. Naks. When I was watching the Urvan turn the corner of our street (with the parental units aboard), I couldn't help but feel happy and sad. Happy because they were going on a trip, and sad because I know I'm going to miss them. Cheesy ba? At least Papa is a text away. Hehe. But at the rate he's sending SMS messages, it looks like he'll need to reload two weeks from now. Haha.

** I'm glad I took that cooking class last weekend. I've been having thoughts about going to culinary school. While i was sitting in class, making our sandwiches, washing the dishes, I realized... I like cooking for someone, more than I like cooking itself. Haha. Which means, I may not be cut out for the culinary arts after all. Hehe. After making our sandwiches and the soup, and while watching my groupmates pack the goodies we made, I had another realization. More than the act of cooking, the enjoyable part is eating the food with someone. I had wanted to chat with my groupmates, but they all packed their food away and were a couple of footsteps away from the door.

** Big girls. Summer time and my kiddie barkada Ina, Iris, and Yssa, are on summer break. This weekend, I've lost count of the times when I couldn't help but smile at their hirits and antics. Haha. From "makulit" they're slowly transitioning into "kikay". Ina is taller than me now. Camille is still a baby. And Yssa still has her melodic cute laugh. Haaay... I can't say this enough. Time flies. Seeing these girls grow up has been such a joy.

** Karina/JB fix. I haven't seen Figgy for about two weeks now. :( Pooh. I am in need of an usual weekly JB fix. I was talking to her earlier today, teasing her with "I miss you, baby"s. Haha. No lesbian love here. Promise. Haha. Anyway, I hope to see her sometime this week. I think we have a million backlog kwentuhans we need to do.

Sunday Shopping

Sunday was shopping day! I got up before 9AM and was at Camille and Ina's house at 930. We went to Greenhills to shop for the mini-SD and R4 cartridge for Ina's Nintendo DS light. We later had lunch at Gloria Maris. Boy oh boy. One of the best Chinese lunches I've ever had. Ate love ordered Fried Chicken, shrimp dumplings, 2-way peking duck, and scallops with broccoli. I think with every bite, I was 500 calorites closer to a heart attack. But it was just so good.

We walked around to shop a little more. Later in the afternoon, we had dessert at Bizu. After the sweet treats, we drove back to Paranque to hear the 4p.m. anticipated mass. Iris wanted to tag along with the grocery shopping I needed to have done for the house. Ina wanted to go, too. And so we "ambushed" Yssa! Haha!

Anyway, long story short, we had to take the Urvan to go to ATC! it was the girls, me, Yssang, Tonton, Rommel, Mark, and Ate Henny. Haha. We all had dinner at Hula hula where the food disappeared from sight not 9 minutes after it arrived in our table. We played a game of 31 with questions. It was fun! Made the waiting more bearable.

So many bloggable entries and so little time to blog over the weekend. It's been more of a family weekend, and it's been good.
